A Song of Blood

AJ lives in India and is a young, independent author who has a flair for the fantasy realm. This Novella is a prequel to a series he plans on writing next.

This is a story that is steeped in Indian mythology, and I don’t mean American Indian, I mean India Indian. LOL it takes place in centuries past when people still lived in villages and believed in demons.

I don’t normally read this type fantasy, but the world building created by the author was very unique and interesting. He kills a lot of people, which can be fun, but he also makes you care about the characters before he kills them. Since it is based on myth, that actually makes it even more interesting.

The story starts out with the main character being woken up in the middle of the night because the local chieftain’s son was kidnapped. Others had already been taken as well. So most of the men leave the village in search of the kids who are missing. They stumble upon what they think is a demon lair, and violence ensues. I don’t want to give it away, but if you are OK with lots of people dying, then this will be a great book for you to read!

There is even a ghost at the end! I really did like the ending, it seemed to fit just right for the direction the story took. I can almost feel where the future series is going to go with this.
